AC compressor diagnosis, hard-start kits, compressor replacement and honest repair-vs-replace advice for the outdoor unit. Serving Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County.
When a compressor is truly failed, Shub Air Conditioning & Heating Repair handles compressor replacement in Salt Lake City, Utah including refrigerant recovery, filter drier replacement, system evacuation and precise recharge. We also give you real numbers on replacing the whole condenser instead when that makes more sense.
AC compressor repair in Salt Lake City often means installing a hard-start kit on a compressor that is struggling to start, replacing a swollen run capacitor or cleaning a condenser coil so badly clogged the compressor is overheating. These fixes cost a fraction of a new compressor.
If the compressor in your Salt Lake City home is under manufacturer warranty, we handle the warranty claim and you pay only labor and refrigerant. If it is out of warranty and the unit is more than 10 years old, replacing the condenser or full system is usually the better value, and we will tell you honestly.
Every compressor replacement we perform in Salt Lake County includes a new filter drier, a deep vacuum to 500 microns, a nitrogen pressure test and a weighed-in refrigerant charge. Skipping those steps is why so many replacement compressors fail early.
