AC compressor diagnosis, hard-start kits, compressor replacement and honest repair-vs-replace advice for the outdoor unit. Serving Wales and Sanpete County.
The compressor is the heart of your air conditioner and the most expensive part to replace. Before anyone in Wales, UT tells you that you need a new compressor, get a second opinion from Shub Air Conditioning & Heating Repair. Many 'dead compressors' in Wales are actually a bad capacitor, a failed contactor or a wiring problem.
Every compressor replacement we perform in Sanpete County includes a new filter drier, a deep vacuum to 500 microns, a nitrogen pressure test and a weighed-in refrigerant charge. Skipping those steps is why so many replacement compressors fail early.
AC compressor repair in Wales often means installing a hard-start kit on a compressor that is struggling to start, replacing a swollen run capacitor or cleaning a condenser coil so badly clogged the compressor is overheating. These fixes cost a fraction of a new compressor.
If the compressor in your Wales home is under manufacturer warranty, we handle the warranty claim and you pay only labor and refrigerant. If it is out of warranty and the unit is more than 10 years old, replacing the condenser or full system is usually the better value, and we will tell you honestly.
